Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data FitMeet ("we", "us")
collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the FitMeet iOS app and all
of its features, including Discovery, FitMatch, Community, Run Clubs, FitEats, My Progress,
and the FitMeet Spotlight competitions. Questions? Email
getactive@fitmeetapp.com.
1.Information We Collect
Account information: name, email address, username, and date of birth. Date of birth is collected solely to enforce our strict 18+ age requirement and, in FitMatch, to show your age and keep matching within compatible age ranges.
Profile details: profile photo, bio, city, and fitness interests. Business accounts may add business details such as listing name, category, address, and offers.
FitMatch profile: if you choose to set up FitMatch — photos, a description of yourself, workout style, fitness interests, age, and what you're looking for in a training partner.
Location data: your city and approximate location, collected only with your explicit permission and only while the app is in use.
Health data: if you choose to connect Apple Health — steps, active calories, heart rate, and workout data (see Section 5).
Content you post: posts, photos, comments, reviews, group content, run club participation, and Spotlight competition entries.
Purchase records: subscription and purchase status for FitMatch Premium, business listing plans (Boost, Discovery, Premium, Lifetime), and Spotlight competition entries. Payments are processed by Apple; subscription status is managed by our payments partner RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment card details.
Device information: a device identifier, your chosen city, and (if you enable notifications) a push token, used to deliver announcements relevant to your area.
2.How We Use Your Information
Personalize venue and activity discovery near you, including distance-based filtering.
Match you with compatible workout partners in FitMatch, always keeping matches within mutually compatible age ranges.
Display your fitness progress, streaks, and personal records in My Progress.
Operate the Community feed, groups, run clubs, and reviews.
Run the monthly FitMeet Spotlight competitions, including judging and winner announcements.
Process and honor your in-app purchases and subscriptions across your devices.
Send you relevant announcements, respond to support requests, and improve the app.
We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we do not sell your data — ever.
3.Age Requirement (18+)
FitMeet is strictly for adults 18 and over. Your date of birth is verified at sign-up and account creation is blocked for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; any such account and its data will be deleted.
4.Location Data
Location access is optional and requested with a standard iOS permission prompt. When granted, your approximate location is used only while the app is in use to power nearby venue discovery, distance filters, run clubs, and FitEats. We do not track your location in the background, build location history, or share your precise location with other users.
You can decline or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings — the app remains fully usable with a manually chosen city.
5.Health Data (Apple Health)
Connecting Apple Health is entirely optional. With your permission, FitMeet reads steps, active calories, heart rate, and workout data solely to display your stats in My Progress.
Health data stays on your device — it is never uploaded to our servers.
It is never sold, never shared with other users or third parties, and never used for advertising or marketing.
You can disconnect Apple Health at any time from Connected Apps in the app, which immediately clears the synced data, or revoke access in iOS Settings → Health.
6.FitMatch
Your FitMatch profile (photos, description, interests, and age) is visible only to other eligible FitMeet members within a mutually compatible age range. You will never be shown to — or shown — members outside that mutual range. You control everything in your FitMatch profile and can edit it or remove it entirely at any time.
7.In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
FitMeet offers optional paid products purchased through your Apple ID: the FitMatch monthly subscription, business listing plans (Boost, Discovery, and Premium monthly subscriptions, and a one-time Lifetime listing), and one-time Spotlight competition entry purchases (Athlete and Business).
All payments are processed by Apple. Our payments partner RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous user identifier and your purchase status so your access works reliably across devices. Payment card details are handled entirely by Apple and are never visible to FitMeet or RevenueCat.
8.Community Content
Content you post to the Community — posts, photos, comments, reviews, and group content — is visible to other FitMeet members (content in private groups is visible only to group members). Your username, profile photo, and city may appear alongside your content. You can delete your own content at any time, and you can report any post, profile, or listing using the in-app report flag. Reported content is reviewed and may be removed along with the offending account.
9.Spotlight Competitions
If you enter a FitMeet Spotlight competition, the details you submit (name, photo, city, achievement, optional video, and optional social handles or special offer) are shared with FitMeet for judging. If you win, those details are displayed publicly in the app — including the winner banner, winner detail page, and the permanent Hall of Fame. If you do not win, your entry details are not displayed publicly.
10.How Your Data Is Stored
On your device: your profile, progress data, and app content are stored locally on your iPhone. Synced Apple Health data never leaves your device.
Sensitive credentials (such as your login) are stored in the encrypted iOS Keychain.
Our servers: a limited set of data needed to operate cross-device features — usernames, referral codes, city-level announcement preferences, password-reset codes (stored hashed, expiring in 15 minutes), and Spotlight competition entries — is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (Cloudflare) with encryption in transit and at rest.
Purchases: subscription status is stored by RevenueCat against a pseudonymous identifier.
11.Sharing
We do not sell your data. Limited information is shared only with:
Other members — the profile and content you choose to make visible (Community posts, reviews, FitMatch profile, Spotlight winner details).
Venues and businesses — for example, when you leave a review, it appears on their listing.
Service providers — Apple (payments, notifications), RevenueCat (subscription management), Cloudflare (secure hosting), and Resend (transactional email such as password-reset codes and support replies), strictly to operate the app.
Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect the safety of our members.
12.Your Rights & Choices
Access, edit, or delete your profile and content at any time from the Profile screen.
Delete your account entirely from within the app, which removes your account data.
Revoke location and Apple Health permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.
Request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing getactive@fitmeetapp.com — we respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We honor these requests regardless of where you live.
13.Data Retention
We keep your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, associated server-side data is deleted or anonymized, except where a longer retention period is required by law (for example, records of purchases). Spotlight Hall of Fame winner displays remain public as described in Section 9 unless you ask us to remove them.
14.Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, store sensitive credentials in the iOS Keychain, and restrict access to server-side data. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of any breach as required by law.
15.Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app, and the "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version. Continued use of FitMeet after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
